"I married the wrong person; my real soulmate is still out there somewhere."
How it sounds in your head: You meet someone at work or church who 'gets you' in ways your husband never has. The emotional connection is instant. You wonder if this is who you were supposed to marry. Maybe you settled. Maybe you married too young. The 'what if' thoughts consume you.
"Yet you say, 'For what reason?' Because the LORD has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, with whom you have dealt treacherously; yet she is your companion and your wife by covenant."
-- Malachi 2:14Disney/Hollywood lie of the 'one true soulmate'; Consumer mentality applied to covenant.
The ease and excitement with someone new contrasts sharply with the difficulty and boredom with your spouse, making the grass genuinely appear greener. The emotional affair (or fantasy of one) feels like evidence you're with the wrong person rather than being tempted to break covenant.
Isaac's wife was chosen by a SERVANT based on a CAMEL-WATERING TEST. Isaac never saw her, never dated her, never had chemistry check. Arranged marriage by proxy. Yet God called it blessed, they loved each other deeply, and their union continued the covenant line. No 'soulmate' required—just obedience to covenant.
I REFUSE the lie that I married the wrong person or that my real soulmate is elsewhere. IT IS WRITTEN that my spouse is my companion by COVENANT, not by perfect compatibility or endless feelings. I am a BRANCH, and faithfulness to covenant produces fruit I can't manufacture by finding a 'better match.' IT IS WRITTEN that God hates divorce because He seeks godly offspring—my covenant isn't just about my happiness but His kingdom purposes. Under the BARAK blessing, even TRICKED marriages like Jacob and Leah became lineages of KINGS. The Father doesn't offer me a different spouse—He offers me supernatural grace to LOVE this one with His love. I declare covenant faithfulness, divine contentment, and death to fantasy TODAY. The 'right person' is the one I'm MARRIED to.
The Father isn't dangling a 'better match' out there—He's pouring supernatural love INTO the covenant you already made. He's about to give you for your actual spouse what you're feeling for the fantasy, because His grace makes the covenant person into more than any soulmate myth ever promised.
