"I keep attracting the wrong people. Something must be broken in me that draws narcissists and emotionally unavailable men."
How it sounds in your head: You've done the therapy, read the books, set the boundaries—and still, the same pattern repeats. Different face, same dysfunction. You start to believe you're the common denominator, that something in your wiring magnetically pulls in the broken ones.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Trauma-based lie mixed with religious self-blame—assigns responsibility for others' sin to her own brokenness.
The pattern is undeniable—three relationships in a row with similar red flags. Therapists and books tell her she's repeating her father wound, that she won't attract healthy until she's completely healed, making her both victim and guilty party.
A woman who had five failed marriages and was currently living with a man who wouldn't marry her—the ULTIMATE 'bad picker'—and Jesus PURSUED HER, revealed Himself to her FIRST before anyone else, and made her the first evangelist. One conversation with Jesus broke every pattern instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a broken magnet attracting dysfunction. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a new creation in Christ—old things have passed away, ALL THINGS have become new. My past patterns do not dictate my future assignments. The enemy sends counterfeits to make me give up right before breakthrough. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 37:23 that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord—and I am the righteousness of God in Christ, so MY steps are divinely ordered, including who I meet and when. I am under the BARAK blessing where God protected Jacob even when he was a deceiver—my past mistakes don't disqualify me from present promises. The same Jesus who pursued the woman with five failed marriages pursues me with perfect love that casts out fear and breaks every pattern.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to 'heal enough' to deserve the right person—He's already preparing divine connections while you're still in process. The woman at the well met Jesus on her WORST day, in her CURRENT mess, and He made her an evangelist.
