"I keep attracting broken people because I'm fundamentally broken myself."
How it sounds in your head: Every relationship was dysfunctional. You picked wrong every time. It's because something is WRONG with you—broken attracts broken. You're defective and you'll never attract healthy love.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Psychology makes brokenness an identity instead of seeing you as a NEW CREATION in Christ, whole and complete.
Your relationship history IS messy. The pattern DOES repeat. Self-help books say 'hurt people hurt people' and it feels accurate.
God told Hosea to marry Gomer, a prostitute who kept leaving him for other men. Hosea wasn't broken for attracting her—he was CHOSEN to display God's faithful love. Sometimes 'broken' relationships are divine assignments, not personal defects.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm fundamentally broken or that my past patterns define me. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a NEW creation; old things have passed away. I am NOT damaged goods—I am RIGHTEOUS in Christ. IT IS WRITTEN in Hosea 1:2 that sometimes hard relationships are divine assignments, not proof of brokenness. I am WHOLE, COMPLETE, BARAK-blessed. My identity is not 'broken'—it's BELOVED SON. I attract what the Father allows for my good and His glory.
The Father whispers: 'You're not broken—you're MINE. Past relationships were part of the story I'm redeeming, not proof of defect. You are whole in My Son, and I see you as COMPLETE.' He's been seeing your wholeness while you've been cataloging flaws.
