"I heard God wrong about starting this business, so I can't trust what I hear from Him."
How it sounds in your head: I was so sure this was God's direction. I prayed, I felt peace, I stepped out in faith. Now it's rubble. Either God didn't speak, or I'm too deaf to hear Him. How can I trust my discernment about anything now?
"So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
-- Isaiah 55:11Religion teaching that God's voice is conditional on getting outcomes right, making you the validator of His words instead of Him being faithful regardless.
The business died—that's empirical evidence. If God really spoke, wouldn't He have made it succeed? The failure feels like proof the voice was just my own wishful thinking.
Jonah prophesied that Nineveh would be overthrown in forty days—clear, specific word from God. Then Nineveh repented and God DIDN'T destroy them, making Jonah's prophecy factually 'wrong.' But God's TRUE purpose—mercy and salvation—was accomplished perfectly.
I REFUSE the lie that a closed business means I can't hear God's voice. IT IS WRITTEN that His word accomplishes what HE pleases, not what I expected. My sheep-ness isn't based on outcomes—Jesus said HIS sheep hear His voice, and I am His. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. God didn't lead me into a trap; He led me through a doorway. The Father doesn't mock His sons with false directions. I am a branch connected to the Vine—His voice flows through that connection regardless of business results. I trust His voice TODAY.
The Father isn't punishing you with silence because a venture closed. He's still speaking, still leading, still running toward you with the next thing. Your hearing isn't broken—the business was just one chapter, not the whole story.
