"I have no spiritual authority."
How it sounds in your head: It's too late for me to learn how to exercise spiritual authority. That ship has sailed.
"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions."
-- Joel 2:28Defeatist thinking that God's timing has passed and that spiritual growth stops at a certain age
Years of not exercising authority, feeling behind others spiritually, believing learning stops in old age, and regret over not understanding this earlier in life.
John received the most powerful prophetic revelation in Scripture—the book of Revelation—when he was elderly, likely in his 90s. His greatest spiritual authority was exercised in his final years.
It is never too late to step into the authority God has given me in Christ. IT IS WRITTEN that God pours out His Spirit on all flesh, including the elderly, and this is my season to dream dreams and prophesy. The Holy Spirit is actively teaching me to exercise the authority I carry, and every day I grow stronger in understanding who I am in Christ. My spiritual authority is not based on how long I've exercised it but on Jesus' finished work. IT IS WRITTEN that I have been given power over the enemy, and I am learning to wield that power with increasing confidence. This is not too late—this is my kairos moment.
Father is delighted to teach you at any age, and He's actually accelerating your understanding of spiritual authority because He has assignments for you that require you to know who you are in Him.
