"I gambled with money instead of being wise. God won't bless foolishness."
How it sounds in your head: Investing felt like gambling and now I'm paying the price. God blesses wisdom, not risky decisions. I was foolish and greedy. This is what I deserve for being reckless with what He gave me.
"Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more."
-- Romans 5:20Religious lie: God's blessing is conditional on human wisdom and prudence rather than flowing from His nature and covenant.
Pre-teens are taught about consequences and 'wise choices,' so when investments fail, it feels like proof of foolishness being punished. The cause-effect feels biblical.
Peter was a PROFESSIONAL fisherman who fished all night in the best conditions using expert knowledge and caught absolutely nothing. Jesus told him to try again in the worst conditions (daytime, wrong spot)—Peter obeyed and caught so many fish the nets were breaking and both boats began to sink. Supernatural provision overrides professional wisdom.
I REFUSE the lie that one unwise decision disqualifies me from God's blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that where sin abounded, grace abounded MUCH MORE—grace doesn't wait for perfect wisdom. Peter the professional caught nothing with expertise but got net-breaking provision with one word from Jesus. The BARAK blessing isn't based on my financial IQ—it's based on covenant. I am redeemed from the curse of foolish decisions. IT IS WRITTEN: The blessing of the Lord makes rich and He adds no sorrow with it.
Your Father isn't withholding blessing until you achieve financial wisdom. His grace ABOUNDS MORE than any foolish decision, and He specializes in bringing provision that has nothing to do with your expertise or planning.
