"I doubted God during my darkest moment, so I failed the test and lost His trust."
How it sounds in your head: When my mom was dying, I was angry at God. When I lost the baby, I questioned Him. During the breakup, I said things I shouldn't have. I was supposed to have faith and I didn't. I failed the test and now He won't trust me with blessings.
"For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust."
-- Psalm 103:14Source: Religious teaching that suffering is a test you must pass with perfect faith to unlock the next level.
You remember the exact moment you cracked—the anger, the doubt, the words you can't take back. If that was the test, you clearly failed.
John the Baptist—the one who INTRODUCED JESUS, who heard the voice from heaven, who saw the Spirit descend like a dove—doubted from prison. He sent messengers asking 'Are you really the One?' Jesus didn't rebuke him; He sent back evidence and called him the greatest born of women.
I REFUSE the lie that my doubt in the darkness disqualified me from God's trust and blessings. IT IS WRITTEN that He knows my frame and remembers I am dust—He's not surprised by my humanity. John the Baptist doubted and Jesus called him the greatest. Thomas doubted and Jesus showed up anyway. IT IS WRITTEN that His mercies are new every morning; yesterday's doubt doesn't cancel today's favor. I didn't fail a test—I survived a trauma, and my Father was WITH me in it, not grading me through it. The BARAK blessing over my life doesn't depend on perfect faith; it depends on His perfect covenant.
The Father saw you drowning in the storm and He wasn't keeping score—He was keeping you. Your doubt didn't disqualify you; your survival is proof of His faithfulness.
