"I don't matter anymore. My words carry no weight."
How it sounds in your head: They smile and nod but don't actually listen. My advice is outdated, my stories boring repeats. Decisions happen without my input because my opinion doesn't count. I'm tolerated, not treasured—a relic of a world that's moved on without me.
"Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you."
-- Isaiah 46:4World system valuing youth, speed, productivity over wisdom, experience, legacy.
Conversations cut short, suggestions ignored, nobody asks his counsel anymore. The respect he once commanded as provider and leader evaporated with retirement and physical decline.
At 85 years old, when everyone expected retirement, Caleb demanded the mountain with giants still on it. God gave him INSTANT victory—the same strength at 85 as at 40—and he drove out the sons of Anak that very day.
I REFUSE the lie that my words don't matter or that age diminishes my value. IT IS WRITTEN that even to gray hairs God will carry me—I am not fading, I am being BORNE by the Almighty. My voice carries the weight of decades walking with God. IT IS WRITTEN in Proverbs 16:31 that gray hair is a crown of glory found in the way of righteousness. I wear the crown. I am the BARAK-blessed, and that blessing doesn't expire with age—it COMPOUNDS. My latter days are greater than my former. God is still making declarations over me.
The Father isn't tolerating your presence—He's leaning in to catch every word because you sound like His Son. Your gray hair is His glory crown, your wrinkled hands His treasure, your slow speech His favorite sound.
