"I don't belong anywhere because every group feels like I'm forcing my way in."
How it sounds in your head: I'm always the one initiating, always the one trying harder, always wondering if I'm wanted or just tolerated. Other people seem to naturally fit; I seem to constantly be proving I deserve a spot at the table.
"Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God."
-- Ephesians 2:19Enemy tactic to keep you questioning your place so you never step into the authority you carry.
You notice the group chats you're not in, the plans made without you, the inside jokes you missed. You're present but feel peripheral, included but not essential, invited but never pursued.
Mephibosheth was crippled, hiding in obscurity, convinced he was forgotten and worthless ('a dead dog'). King David SEARCHED for him, brought him to the palace, gave him permanent place at the king's table, and restored all his inheritance - instant belonging without earning it.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm an outsider forcing my way in. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a fellow citizen with the saints and a member of God's household - my belonging is a done deal, not a daily audition. The Father prepared a place for me at His table before I even knew I was hungry. I carry the blessing of Abraham that caused kings to seek his presence. IT IS WRITTEN that I am accepted in the Beloved - not tolerated, not provisional, but fully embraced. I don't earn my seat; I inherit it.
The Father isn't waiting to see if you'll fit in - He already set a place for you at the table with your name on it, already prepared the seat, already told everyone you're coming. He's not evaluating your worthiness; He's celebrating your arrival with the fattened calf already cooking.
