"I didn't tithe or give, so God won't bless me financially now."
How it sounds in your head: You kept everything for yourself while others were giving. You were selfish with money. Now you're broke and God obviously isn't blessing you because you didn't honor Him with your finances first. You broke the rules.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Source: Religious teaching that God's provision is transactional based on tithing performance.
He remembers hearing that God blesses givers and curses those who don't tithe. His current lack feels like direct evidence that God withheld blessing because of his selfishness.
A thief dying next to Jesus had never tithed a day in his life, never given to ministry, was literally DYING for his crimes. Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise' - instant salvation with zero giving track record.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds blessing because I didn't tithe. IT IS WRITTEN that God loved me and Christ died for me WHILE I WAS STILL SINNING - blessing isn't transactional. I am NOT under Old Covenant tithe law - I am under GRACE through the blood of Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse, and I am Abraham's seed by faith, not by giving record. The BARAK blessing on my life flows from covenant, not from my checkbook. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and blessing is mine by blood, not by behavior. The Lord commands blessing on everything I set my hand to because I am His beloved son.
Your Father isn't a cosmic accountant withholding blessing until you make back-payments on tithes - He's the Father who gave you Jesus when you had NOTHING to offer. The thief on the cross never gave a dime and got paradise that very day. Your breakthrough isn't locked behind giving performance; it's freely yours through the finished work of Christ.
