"I cheated in college and got my degree dishonestly. My whole career is built on a lie."
How it sounds in your head: You cheated on exams, maybe plagiarized papers. You have the degree hanging on your wall, but you know you didn't really earn it. Every promotion, every success feels fraudulent because the foundation was dishonest.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Religious performance system that says God can't bless what started dishonestly, plus enemy accusation of permanent fraud.
He genuinely did cheat, and the success he's experiencing feels undeserved. Every achievement is tainted by the memory of that shortcut.
Jacob deceived his blind father, stole his brother's blessing through outright FRAUD—lied about his identity, wore a disguise, manipulated the situation. When exposed, Isaac didn't revoke it; he confirmed: 'I have blessed him, and he SHALL BE BLESSED.' God later appeared to Jacob and REAFFIRMED the blessing personally.
I REFUSE the lie that my past dishonesty disqualifies God's current blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a NEW CREATION—old things PASSED AWAY, ALL THINGS became new. Not 'most things'—ALL THINGS. Jacob STOLE a blessing through deception, and God still called him Israel and blessed him. My degree may have started dishonestly, but God is a REDEEMER, not an auditor. IT IS WRITTEN that the BARAK blessing of Abraham is mine through Christ, and that blessing covered LIARS and DECEIVERS. I am not defined by how I got here—I am defined by the BLOOD OF JESUS. I walk in covenant blessing, not karma.
God isn't fact-checking your transcript. He's not building your future on your academic integrity; He's building it on HIS FAITHFULNESS. The blessing Jacob stole became LEGITIMATE under God's hand—same for you.
