"I can't retire and still give to God's work—I have to choose."
How it sounds in your head: If you keep tithing, the money won't stretch. You're living on a fixed income now—you have to be practical. God understands if you need to cut back on giving to survive.
"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it."
-- Malachi 3:10Enemy convincing you God's work competes with your provision instead of being the SOURCE of your provision.
The budget is tight and every dollar counts now that you're not earning. Giving feels like it's taking from groceries or medicine, and surely God doesn't want you to go without necessities.
She had only two small coins—all she had to live on—and gave them both. Jesus said she gave more than all the rich people, and honored her radical trust in God's provision.
I REFUSE the lie that giving to God threatens my provision. IT IS WRITTEN that God opens windows of heaven when I honor Him with my resources, pouring out blessing I don't have room to receive. My retirement security is not in my savings—it's in the covenant faithfulness of my Father. The BARAK blessing that made Abraham wealthy in old age, that multiplied the widow's oil, that filled nets after empty nights—that blessing is MINE. IT IS WRITTEN that my God supplies ALL my need. I declare that as I honor God with my finances, supernatural provision flows, needs are met, and there is MORE than enough.
Your Father isn't watching to see if you'll choose Him or provision—He's the SOURCE of provision. The widow gave her last and never ran out. He's not asking you to sacrifice—He's inviting you to watch Him multiply.
