"I can't lead my family spiritually because of what I've done in my past."
How it sounds in your head: You tell your kids to follow Jesus, but you know where you've been. The sexual history. The addiction years. The things you did before you got saved—and some after. How can you be the spiritual head when your foundation is cracked? You're a hypocrite leading family devotions.
"I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins."
-- Isaiah 43:25Religious teaching that past sin creates permanent disqualification from spiritual authority.
He sees spiritual leadership as earned by moral résumé, and his past feels like permanent evidence against him. The enemy replays old scenes as current disqualification.
Moses was a murderer who fled Egypt as a fugitive. Forty years later, God called him to lead an entire nation out of bondage. His past crime didn't disqualify him—God gave him the authority to confront Pharaoh and perform miracles. Murder to deliverer in one encounter.
I REFUSE the lie that my past disqualifies me from spiritual leadership. IT IS WRITTEN that God has blotted out my transgressions and will not remember my sins. I lead my family from the authority of Christ IN me, not from a perfect moral résumé. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and that identity covers every past failure. IT IS WRITTEN that old things have passed away and all things have become new. I am blessed with the BARAK blessing—my family is blessed through me because I am Abraham's seed in Christ. I lead with confidence in HIS righteousness.
The Father has already forgotten your past and seated you in spiritual authority as His son. Your leadership flows from your current identity, not your old history. He's placed you as head of your family not because you're perfect, but because you're His.
