"I can't ask God for money because there are more important things to pray for."
How it sounds in your head: Money seems shallow compared to sick people or world hunger. God probably thinks I'm materialistic if I pray about wanting new shoes or money for stuff I want. There are bigger problems.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Source: Religious teaching creating hierarchy of 'acceptable' prayers and making provision seem unspiritual.
Every prayer example he hears at church is about healing, salvation, or missions - never about personal provision. Praying for money feels embarrassing compared to 'real' needs.
Prayed boldly 'enlarge my territory, let Your hand be with me, keep me from harm' - a prayer for MORE, not just survival. God granted his request - no rebuke for asking for increase.
I REFUSE the lie that asking God for financial provision is shallow or materialistic. IT IS WRITTEN that my God supplies ALL my need according to His riches in glory. ALL includes finances, provision, and things I want. IT IS WRITTEN that my Father gives GOOD GIFTS to those who ask Him. Jesus talked about money constantly because God cares about every area of my life. The BARAK blessing covers my storehouses and everything my hand touches. Like Jabez who boldly asked for MORE and God granted it, I ask boldly. My Father LOVES providing.
Your Father isn't offended when you ask Him for financial provision - He's DELIGHTED. He loves giving good gifts to His children, and money is one of the many ways He shows His care for every detail of your life.
