"I can never remarry. God's plan was one marriage, and I blew it forever."
How it sounds in your head: You had your chance at marriage and you failed. To remarry would be living in perpetual adultery. God tolerates it maybe, but it's His second-best plan. You'll spend the rest of your life alone as consequences for breaking covenant.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."
-- Joel 2:25Source: Legalistic teaching that ignores grace, weaponizes scripture, and makes Jesus' sacrifice insufficient to fully restore what was lost.
You've heard sermons about marriage being forever, and every verse about divorce feels like a life sentence. At your age, starting over feels presumptuous—like you're asking for something you already forfeited the right to have.
Ruth was a widow (first marriage ended), Boaz likely a widower or previously unmarried older man. Their second-chance marriage became the lineage of King David and Jesus Christ—God's BEST plan flowed through a remarriage, producing the Messiah.
I REFUSE the lie that I can never remarry. IT IS WRITTEN that God restores the years the locust has eaten—including relationship and companionship. My past does not disqualify me from future blessing. IT IS WRITTEN there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. The BARAK blessing includes relationship, covenant, and partnership. God placed remarriage in the Messianic line—Boaz and Ruth. If God can use remarriage to bring forth the Messiah, He can bless my future marriage. I am a candidate for RESTORATION, not condemnation.
The Father isn't holding your past marriage over your head like a weapon. He's already planning your restoration, preparing good things, orchestrating new beginnings. He's the God who makes all things new—including your capacity to love and be loved again.
