"I betrayed my family's values so I deserve to be financially cut off."
How it sounds in your head: You're dating someone they don't approve of. You left their church and they see it as betrayal. You came out and they said you're no longer their son. You chose a different path and now they're choosing a different heir. You deserve this—you knew the cost of defying them.
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
-- Romans 8:38-39Source: Religion and control using financial punishment to enforce conformity, making you accept rejection as righteous consequence.
They explicitly said 'if you do this, you're out'—and you did it, and they followed through. The cause and effect is undeniable. You chose your path knowing the financial consequence, so the punishment feels earned.
The prodigal explicitly SINNED against heaven and his father, violated every family value, and disgraced the family name by living with prostitutes. When he came home, the father didn't lecture him about betrayal or values—he RAN to him, restored him FULLY, and threw a party celebrating his return despite the disgrace.
I REFUSE the lie that my family's rejection means I deserve financial punishment. IT IS WRITTEN that NOTHING separates me from God's love—not family disapproval, not value conflicts, not their disappointment. The prodigal DISGRACED his family and violated every value, and the father STILL ran to him with full restoration. IT IS WRITTEN that whoever comes to Jesus, He will NEVER cast out—there's no 'unless you disappointed your family' clause. My provision comes from COVENANT, not from family approval. Heaven's inheritance isn't conditional on earthly family's acceptance.
Your Father isn't cutting you off because your family did—He's running toward you WITH resources while they're running away, proving His love isn't conditional on who approves of you. He's not waiting for you to get back in your family's good graces; He's meeting you with the ring and robe right now in your rejection.
