"Guys my age are running marathons and staying fit while I'm falling apart physically."
How it sounds in your head: I see men my age posting gym selfies, completing triathlons, looking ten years younger. Meanwhile I'm managing pain, taking pills for things that used to work, and avoiding mirrors. Their discipline condemns my decline.
"He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength."
-- Isaiah 40:29Enemy's lie that your body's condition reflects spiritual failure—makes health about comparison instead of compassion and covenant.
The mirror and the scale don't lie, and you see peers who seem to have beaten age while you're losing the battle. Every joint ache and medication bottle feels like proof you failed at stewardship.
He'd been sick for 38 years—longer than most marriages, watching others get healed while he remained stuck. Jesus didn't ask about his diet, exercise, or discipline; He spoke one word and IMMEDIATELY the man was made well, picked up his bed, and walked.
I REFUSE the lie that other men's fitness condemns my body or proves I've failed. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives power to the weak and increases strength to those with no might—my weakness qualifies me for His power. My body isn't being compared to marathon runners in God's economy. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in ME and gives life to my mortal body. IT IS WRITTEN in 3 John 2 that God wishes above all things that I prosper and be in health. My age and current condition don't limit His resurrection power. He makes all things new, not just young things.
The Father isn't comparing your body to the guy posting gym selfies or waiting for you to earn health through discipline. He's running toward you with resurrection life for mortal flesh—not because you've maintained it perfectly, but because His Spirit dwells in you.
