"God won't provide retirement because I haven't been faithful with little."
How it sounds in your head: You've maybe wasted your allowance, spent money on dumb stuff, haven't been responsible. You think God is watching, keeping score, and won't trust you with more because you blew the little you had. You feel disqualified before you even start.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Religious performance teaching that twists the parable of talents into a works-based system where God's provision depends on your track record.
You've heard 'faithful with little, ruler over much' and applied it backwards—since you weren't faithful, you won't get much. Your mistakes feel like disqualifications from future blessing.
She had five husbands and was living with a man not her husband—terrible track record of faithfulness. Jesus didn't withhold living water until she cleaned up. He OFFERED it freely, and she became an evangelist that same day—instant purpose despite unfaithful past.
I REFUSE the lie that my past unfaithfulness disqualifies me from future blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was STILL a sinner, Christ died for me—my qualification is HIS BLOOD, not my behavior. The BARAK blessing on Abraham continued even when he LIED twice. Isaac repeated the same lie and still prospered. God's provision isn't earned by faithfulness; it's received by GRACE. IT IS WRITTEN in Titus 3:5 'Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us.' Mercy. Not merit. Lamentations 3:22-23 says His mercies are NEW EVERY MORNING—yesterday's failures don't define today's provision. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, qualified by JESUS, blessed by COVENANT, and my future is secured by His FAITHFULNESS, not mine.
The Father isn't withholding blessing until you prove yourself faithful with little. He's the prodigal's father, watching for you while you're STILL FAR OFF, ready to run toward you and lavish you with robe, ring, and party before you've proven anything—just come home.
