"God wants me to learn contentment with less before He gives me more."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I'm too focused on money and God's teaching me that He's enough. I should be content in all circumstances like Paul. Wanting more probably means my heart isn't right. Contentment is the real blessing.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Source: religion twisting Paul's contentment (in prison with support) into acceptance of lack as spiritual maturity.
Contentment verses get weaponized to make wanting provision seem greedy or unspiritual. Poverty gets spiritualized while abundance gets demonized.
Asked for wisdom instead of riches. God gave him wisdom AND said 'I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor'—instant wealth he didn't even request.
I REFUSE the lie that contentment means accepting financial lack. IT IS WRITTEN that God's will is that I PROSPER in all things and be in health. Contentment isn't poverty with a smile—it's peace in abundance. IT IS WRITTEN that the blessing of Abraham is mine, and that blessing is the head not the tail, lender not borrower. Solomon got riches he didn't even ask for because God delights to give abundantly. The BARAK doesn't teach contentment with less—it PROVIDES more than enough. I receive prosperity NOW while walking in peace.
Your Father isn't testing your contentment with scraps before serving the feast—He's preparing abundance while teaching you to receive without anxiety. The table is already set with more than enough.
