"God provides for them because they served Him faithfully. I wasted my life, so I don't deserve it."
How it sounds in your head: They were missionaries, served in church, lived devoted lives. I was lukewarm, inconsistent, gave God the leftovers of my time. Now they're comfortable and I'm struggling. This is justice. God rewards the faithful and I wasn't. I wasted decades and now face the financial consequences of a spiritually mediocre life.
"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."
-- Romans 11:29Religion's works-based theology teaching that provision is payment for spiritual service, creating performance-based relationship with God.
She can correlate others' visible ministry involvement with their stability and her own inconsistent faith walk with her struggles. Decades of religious teaching equated blessing with faithfulness.
Workers hired at 5pm, who labored ONE HOUR, received the EXACT SAME FULL DAY'S WAGE as those who worked since dawn. The landowner declared 'I choose to give'—generosity based on HIS NATURE not their effort.
I REFUSE the lie that my provision depends on my service record. IT IS WRITTEN that God's gifts are IRREVOCABLE—not earned, not forfeited, IRREVOCABLE. I am not under law where blessing must be earned but under GRACE where it flows freely. The thief got paradise with zero faithful service. The prodigal got a party after serving NO ONE but himself. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for me in Christ Jesus—not 'less provision' or 'reduced blessing.' My righteousness is GIFT through Christ's blood. The barak blessed Jacob WHILE he deceived—my past doesn't determine my provision. My Father runs toward me with abundance, not a performance review. I am a branch abiding in the Vine where fruit comes from CONNECTION not production.
Your Father isn't reviewing your ministry résumé before releasing provision—He's looking at CHRIST'S PERFECT RECORD credited to your account. While you regret wasted years, He's celebrating the prodigal who came home and planning a feast that has nothing to do with where you've been.
