How it sounds in your head: Christians are supposed to trust God for daily bread, just what we need for today. Abundance is worldly. Overflow is greedy. God gives manna, not feasts. He provides enough to survive, not thrive. Asking for more than I need is testing God. I should be content with barely enough.

Manna in the wilderness was daily provision, and sermons emphasize 'daily bread' in the Lord's Prayer, making abundance seem unspiritual or excessive.
The widow had massive debt, creditors coming to take her sons. Elisha said gather jars and pour. Oil multiplied until she ran out of JARS—not ran out of oil! She had so much oil she paid ALL debt and lived on the SURPLUS. God gave ABUNDANCE, not 'just enough.'
I REFUSE the lie that God only gives just enough. IT IS WRITTEN that He does EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY above all I ask or think. The widow didn't get 'just enough' oil to survive—she got so much she paid all debt and lived on SURPLUS. IT IS WRITTEN in John 10:10 that Jesus came to give me life ABUNDANTLY—not barely, ABUNDANTLY. Deuteronomy 28:11 promises ABUNDANT prosperity under the blessing. The BARAK blessing meant Abraham's flocks, herds, silver and gold MULTIPLIED abundantly. I am blessed with PRESSED DOWN, SHAKEN TOGETHER, RUNNING OVER measure according to Luke 6:38. My Father gives LAVISHLY.
Your Father didn't give the prodigal 'just enough' robe to cover nakedness—He gave the BEST robe, the ring, the sandals, AND the fattened calf. He's not a minimalist; He's a MAXIMALIST who throws parties and gives MORE than you can contain.
