"God must be withholding marriage because I haven't dealt with my issues enough yet."
How it sounds in your head: You've done the therapy. Read the books. Gone to the workshops. But there's always another layer, another wound, another pattern to fix. Maybe once you're completely healed, then you'll be ready. Then God will release it.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ."
-- Ephesians 1:3Religion: makes God's blessing conditional on emotional perfection, turning sanctification into a prerequisite for love.
Well-meaning leaders said 'God is preparing you' and 'work on yourself first.' You genuinely do have some unresolved stuff. The teaching sounds spiritual and makes God seem protective rather than withholding.
Rahab was actively working as a prostitute—not recovered, not years sober from that life—when she was grafted into Israel, given protection, and later married Salmon, becoming great-great-grandmother of King David and part of Jesus' lineage. No waiting period. No probation.
I REFUSE the lie that God is withholding until I'm healed enough. IT IS WRITTEN that He HAS blessed me with EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ. Not when I finish therapy. Not when all my issues are resolved. NOW. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ. The BARAK blessing protected Jacob the deceiver and Judah the adulterer—my imperfection doesn't disqualify covenant promises. I am righteous by GIFT, complete in Him.
Father is not holding marriage hostage until you've completed enough inner healing courses. He's running toward you with the robe and ring—issues and all—because His blessing was never based on your emotional perfection. Rahab got covenant while still a prostitute.
