"God might use infertility to teach me a lesson or build my character."
How it sounds in your head: I heard someone say 'God uses everything for our good' and 'trials make us stronger.' Does that mean God would GIVE me problems having babies someday just to teach me something? That's scary.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Religious teaching that makes God the author of suffering and trials rather than the Healer and Restorer.
She's hearing well-meaning church teachings about 'God's purposes in pain' and 'trials building character.' These messages make her fear God might intentionally cause problems to make her learn.
Elizabeth was barren and it was considered a 'disgrace'—but when God opened her womb, she didn't say 'God taught me through barrenness.' She said 'The Lord has TAKEN AWAY my reproach!' God's move was REMOVAL of the problem, not using it for a lesson.
I REFUSE the lie that God would curse my womb to teach me something! IT IS WRITTEN that EVERY good and perfect gift comes from my Father—He gives GOOD gifts, not reproductive problems. God is not the author of infertility; He's the HEALER! IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to give me ABUNDANT life—that includes a fruitful womb when the time comes. I will not agree with theology that makes my Father look like the enemy. He takes AWAY reproach; He doesn't inflict it. I stand on the BARAK blessing that brings LIFE, not lessons through suffering. My Father is GOOD, and His plans for me are GOOD!
The Father is running toward you with the truth that He's not plotting problems to grow you—He's planning BLESSINGS to delight you. He's a good Father who gives good gifts, and fertility is a GIFT, not a lesson wrapped in suffering.
