"God isn't providing because I must have done something wrong to lose that opportunity."
How it sounds in your head: God is punishing you. You must have sinned somehow and now He's withholding blessing until you figure out what you did wrong and fix it. Good kids get opportunities; you must not be good enough.
"And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work."
-- Romans 11:6Source: religious teaching that God's provision is based on behavior, karma theology masked as Christianity.
Church taught him that obedience brings blessing and disobedience brings cursing. He lost an opportunity so his brain concludes he must have disobeyed somehow even if he can't identify what he did wrong.
The prodigal blew his entire inheritance on prostitutes and wild living, the worst financial decisions possible. The father didn't make him earn back favor—he RAN to him, restored him INSTANTLY with robe, ring, sandals, and threw a party before any repayment plan.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds provision because of my behavior. IT IS WRITTEN that if blessing comes by grace, it is NO LONGER by works—otherwise grace is not grace. My Father is not a cosmic accountant tracking my mistakes; He is the Father who RAN to the prodigal covered in pig smell and threw an instant party. IT IS WRITTEN that the BLESSING OF ABRAHAM is mine through Christ—the same blessing that protected LIARS, DECEIVERS, and even MURDERERS because it was COVENANT, not conduct. I am blessed in the city and the field. The Lord commands blessing on my storehouses. Provision flows by GRACE.
Your Father isn't searching your record for reasons to withhold—He's searching the horizon for opportunities to release blessing. He's already preparing your next door before you finished processing the last one.
