"God is withholding healing to teach me a lesson or build my character."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe if you were more patient, more faithful, more surrendered, He'd heal you. The suffering must be purposeful—character-building, faith-testing. You're in God's classroom, and graduation requires endurance.
"How God anointed Jesus of Christ with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
-- Acts 10:38Religion making God the author of suffering and turning sickness into a curriculum.
Pastors quote 'suffering produces perseverance' and 'God disciplines those He loves.' If God is sovereign and hasn't healed you, He must have a reason. Accepting that feels more spiritual than questioning it.
Invalid for THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS, waiting by a pool for healing, stuck in the same condition for decades. Jesus didn't say 'you need to wait longer' or 'I'm building your character.' He said 'RISE, take up your bed and WALK.' IMMEDIATELY the man was made well.
I REFUSE the lie that God is using sickness to teach me. IT IS WRITTEN: Jesus healed ALL oppressed by the devil—sickness is from the enemy, NOT the Father. God is not withholding—He SENT healing through Jesus. The man at Bethesda waited 38 YEARS—Jesus healed him IMMEDIATELY with one word. IT IS WRITTEN: By His stripes I am healed, redeemed from the curse. The Father is not my tormenter—He is my HEALER, and breakthrough is mine NOW.
The Father isn't making you sick to teach you—He's running toward you with the SAME healing power Jesus carried, and He's not waiting for you to 'learn the lesson.' Like the man at Bethesda, He's saying 'RISE' right now.
