"God is withholding companionship because I didn't serve Him faithfully enough."
How it sounds in your head: You replay your life—the times you doubted, the prayers you didn't pray, the Bible you didn't read enough. Maybe if you'd been more faithful, more devoted, God would have brought someone. This loneliness feels like punishment for spiritual mediocrity.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Religious lie that God's blessings are wages earned by performance, not gifts given by grace.
You see other women who seem more 'on fire' for God with husbands and families, and it feels like a formula: faithfulness = blessing. By that math, your singleness must be evidence of failure.
The thief had ZERO faithful service, ZERO good works, ZERO church attendance—just a last-minute cry for mercy. Jesus' response? 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.' INSTANT salvation, INSTANT acceptance, INSTANT promise—not because of what the thief did but because of who JESUS is.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds companionship because I didn't serve Him faithfully enough. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was STILL A SINNER, Christ died for me—His love is not wages I earn but GRACE I receive. My blessing is not based on my performance but on HIS BLOOD. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 2:8-9 that I am saved by GRACE through faith, NOT OF WORKS, lest anyone should boast. If salvation isn't earned, neither is any other blessing. I am under the Abrahamic covenant, which covered LIARS like Abraham, DECEIVERS like Jacob, and MURDERERS like Jacob's sons—not because they were faithful but because covenant is UNBREAKABLE. The Father is not withholding because I failed—He's running toward me with EVERY good gift because of Jesus.
The Father doesn't have a scorecard where your devotion earns you a spouse—He has a CROSS where Jesus already purchased EVERY blessing for you. Your companionship isn't being withheld as punishment; it's being prepared as a GIFT, and it's not contingent on how well you performed but on how completely He loves.
