"God is withholding blessing because I trusted investments more than I trusted Him."
How it sounds in your head: You remember every moment you checked your portfolio instead of praying, every time you found security in the numbers instead of in God. Now the losses feel like divine correction for misplaced trust, and you believe God removed the blessing to teach you to trust Him alone.
"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"
-- Romans 8:32Religious teaching that God withholds or removes blessing to correct 'idolatry' of money and to force dependence on Him alone.
You genuinely did find security in the investments, and the loss does feel like a pattern of God removing what you trust in instead of Him. Sermons about not serving Mammon seem to explain exactly what happened.
After God delivered him from Assyria, Hezekiah had exceedingly great riches and honor—he made treasuries for silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields, and all kinds of desirable items. God gave him wealth abundantly, and there's no record of God removing it for 'trusting it too much.'
I REFUSE the lie that God withheld blessing to correct my trust in investments. IT IS WRITTEN that He who didn't spare His own Son will FREELY give us ALL THINGS—that's His NATURE. He's a GIVER, not a withholder. James 1:17 declares EVERY good gift comes from Him with NO variation or shadow of turning—He doesn't give then take back. IT IS WRITTEN in John 10:10 that Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE, and the BARAK blessing on my life is COVENANT-based, not behavior-based.
The Father isn't withholding to teach you lessons—He GAVE His own Son and freely gives ALL things. He's running toward you with restoration because giving is His nature, not because you've learned to trust Him perfectly but because He IS trustworthy.
