"God is waiting to punish me for the abortion I had decades ago"
How it sounds in your head: I took a life. I murdered my own baby when I was young and scared, and now at the end of my life, I'll have to answer for it. How can God forgive something so terrible?
"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from ALL sin."
-- 1 John 1:7Religious condemnation + cultural shame weaponized by enemy to create decades of hidden torment and fear of final judgment.
The weight of that choice has been a secret for 60+ years, and the approaching end feels like approaching judgment. Church culture often treats abortion as the unforgivable sin, creating unbearable shame.
David committed adultery with Bathsheba, got her pregnant, then orchestrated the MURDER of her innocent husband Uriah to cover it up. He murdered a righteous man and caused the death of the baby. Yet God called him 'a man after My own heart' and kept him in the Messianic line with FULL blessing restored.
I REFUSE the lie that God is waiting to punish me for my abortion! IT IS WRITTEN that the blood of Jesus cleanses from ALL sin - and that means THIS sin too. I bring this decades-old shame into the light RIGHT NOW and declare it covered, forgiven, ERASED by the blood. IT IS WRITTEN that though my sins were scarlet, they are NOW white as snow. God is not angry - He is running toward me with forgiveness. I will meet that precious child in heaven, and we will both be whole. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, washed completely clean!
The Father isn't holding that abortion against you - He wept with you in that clinic and has been waiting for you to receive the forgiveness that's been yours all along. That baby is safe in His arms, waiting to meet a mother who is FULLY forgiven.
