"God is using my insomnia to teach me something I'm not learning."
How it sounds in your head: There must be a lesson in this exhaustion. Maybe He's trying to get my attention about something I'm ignoring. Once I figure out what He's teaching, the sleep will come. Until then, I'm stuck in divine discipline.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Religion - making God the author of suffering, turning your bed into a classroom of punishment.
Christian culture constantly frames suffering as 'God's megaphone' or 'lessons in disguise.' Your persistent insomnia feels too targeted to be random—surely there's a purpose, a lesson you're missing.
God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam—not after Adam proved anything, not as reward for obedience, but simply to give him the gift he didn't know he needed (Eve). Divine sleep preceded the blessing, not followed worthiness.
I REFUSE the lie that God is using insomnia as a teaching tool. IT IS WRITTEN that every good gift comes from the Father of lights—and sleep IS a good gift. If it's being stolen, the thief is not my Father. Jesus came to give ABUNDANT life, not rob my rest for pedagogy. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 121:4, 'He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep'—He stays awake so I can REST. My insomnia is not divine discipline but enemy theft, and I reclaim my covenant rest NOW.
Your Father isn't keeping you awake to teach you—He's the one who stays awake to GUARD your sleep. Like Adam receiving deep sleep as pure gift before he'd done anything, your rest comes from His generosity, not your lesson-learning.
