"God is punishing my financial lack because I didn't tithe or give correctly for years."
How it sounds in your head: You know the years you didn't give, the times you gave reluctantly, the seasons you stopped altogether. Now the financial struggle feels like direct consequence—God withholding because you withheld. You're under the curse of Malachi 3.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Religious teaching that puts believers back under law and presents God as withholder based on giving performance—old covenant curse theology.
The timeline seems to match—when you stopped giving regularly, provision seemed to stop. Preachers quoted 'robbing God' and you felt the accusation land. The lack feels like punishment you earned.
The Macedonian churches were in 'deep poverty' yet gave with 'abundance of joy' beyond their ability—NOT to get out of poverty but FROM generosity. Their giving didn't cause their poverty and increased giving didn't fix it. Grace works differently than religious formulas.
I REFUSE the lie that God is punishing my finances because I didn't tithe correctly. IT IS WRITTEN that I am not under law but under GRACE. Malachi 3 was old covenant—I am in BETTER covenant with BETTER promises. IT IS WRITTEN that God makes all grace abound toward me so I ALWAYS have ALL SUFFICIENCY in ALL THINGS. My provision isn't based on my giving record but on God's NATURE as generous Father. The BARAK blessing came 430 years before law and tithing requirements. I am blessed by COVENANT, not by giving percentage. God is NOT withholding. He is PROVIDING.
The Father isn't checking your giving record deciding if you've earned provision—He's looking at Jesus' FINISHED WORK and saying, 'Because of the BLOOD, not the tithe, EVERYTHING I have is yours. Stop earning. Start RECEIVING.'
