"God is punishing me with this slow decline because of the way I lived my life."
How it sounds in your head: You're losing your mind, your mobility, your dignity. This isn't just old age—this is payback. If you'd lived differently, maybe you'd be sharp and healthy like some guys you know. This suffering has your name on it.
"Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'"
-- John 9:3Karma theology replacing gospel truth; enemy presenting Father as cosmic enforcer instead of compassionate Healer.
The correlation feels obvious—you lived hard, and now you're dying hard. Others who lived 'cleaner' seem to have easier exits, so it must be cause and effect.
Born blind—never sinned before birth, yet suffered from day one. Religious leaders insisted someone must be at fault. Jesus declared 'NEITHER this man nor his parents sinned'—then healed him INSTANTLY, proving suffering is not divine punishment but an opportunity for God's glory to manifest.
I REFUSE the lie that my physical decline is punishment from God. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus—Romans 8:1. Jesus said suffering is not caused by sin but is an opportunity for God's works to be revealed. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 53:5 that by His stripes I AM healed—present tense, purchased reality. My Father is not my punisher; He is my HEALER. I break agreement with karma theology and receive the truth that I am under GRACE, not curse. Christ took my punishment at the cross; there is NONE left for me to bear.
Your Father isn't watching your decline with arms crossed saying 'you earned this.' He's weeping with you, carrying you when you can't walk, and preparing a room where every limitation is erased forever.
