"God is punishing me for pride or poor stewardship through this business failure."
How it sounds in your head: I must have been prideful to think I could do this. God is humbling me. Maybe I wasn't a good steward of what He gave me. This is discipline. I deserve this.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Religious lie that makes God the PUNISHER instead of the REDEEMER, Old Covenant thinking that denies the cross paid for ALL sin and consequence.
Preachers quote 'pride comes before a fall' and she can remember moments of confidence that now feel like arrogance. The failure timing feels too specific to be coincidence.
Most evil king in Judah's history—practiced witchcraft, sacrificed his own sons in fire, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood. God captured him, put him in bronze shackles. He repented from prison—God RESTORED him to his throne and gave him many years of peaceful reign afterward.
I REFUSE the lie that God is punishing me or disciplining me through business failure. IT IS WRITTEN in Colossians 2:13-14 that He forgave ALL trespasses and nailed the handwriting of requirements to the cross. ALL punishment went to JESUS. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ. Manasseh sacrificed his sons and God still RESTORED him to the throne after repentance. I am under GRACE, not law. The BARAK blessing isn't based on my stewardship—it's based on COVENANT. My Father doesn't punish prodigals; He throws them PARTIES.
Your Father isn't punishing you—He already punished JESUS for every sin you'd ever commit. He's not disciplining you; He's RUNNING toward you with the same grace that restored the most evil king in history to his throne after repentance.
