"God is preparing me for death by taking everything away. This decline is His will."
How it sounds in your head: First my strength, then my independence, now my clarity. God is systematically stripping me down so I'll let go and be ready to die. This progressive loss must be His way of weaning me from earth. He's getting me ready.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Religious teaching that God orchestrates suffering and loss as preparation for death, making Him the author of decline.
Each loss seems to follow the previous one in a pattern that feels intentional. Pastors have suggested God is 'loosening his grip on earthly things,' and the timing of deterioration seems too coordinated to be random. He's trying to find meaning in the pain.
Told by the prophet to set his house in order because he WOULD die, Hezekiah prayed and God IMMEDIATELY added 15 years to his life. God's initial word was reversed by prayer—death's timeline isn't fixed, and God responds to faith, not resignation.
I REFUSE the lie that God is authoring my decline. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to give ABUNDANT life—the thief steals and destroys! My Father doesn't prepare me for death by taking things—He prepares me for LIFE by giving more. IT IS WRITTEN that He daily loads me with benefits, not strips me of blessing. I am under the BARAK, redeemed from the curse, and decline is part of the curse. Hezekiah's death sentence was REVERSED—so can mine. The Father is running with RESTORATION, not orchestrating loss!
The Father isn't dismantling you piece by piece—He's fighting FOR you against the thief. What looks like preparation for death is actually the enemy's assault, and your Father is reaching with the oil and wine of restoration.
