"God is judging my greed through these investment losses."
How it sounds in your head: You got greedy. You wanted more than you needed. You chased returns instead of being content with what you had. Now God is teaching you a lesson about materialism. This loss is divine discipline for your heart condition.
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
-- Colossians 2:13-14Religious spirit making God the source of loss instead of the enemy, erasing the finished work that already dealt with every heart issue.
You did want more. You were excited about potential gains. You checked the portfolio obsessively. It's easy to believe God is using loss to correct your heart when religious voices constantly warn against 'loving money.'
Solomon asked for wisdom, and God gave him what he asked for PLUS riches and honor he didn't ask for—God voluntarily added wealth because He delights in blessing His children, not because Solomon earned it or proved he wasn't greedy.
I REFUSE the lie that God punishes me through financial loss or uses market crashes to teach me lessons about greed. IT IS WRITTEN that He forgave ALL my trespasses and nailed every requirement to the cross—including perfect heart motives. My Father doesn't condemn—He SAVES. IT IS WRITTEN in John 10:10 that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came to give ABUNDANT life. Loss comes from the thief, not my Father. The BARAK blessing protected men with far worse heart issues than wanting financial growth—Judah literally hired a prostitute and stayed in the covenant line. I am righteous in Christ, and my Father delights in the prosperity of His servant. He gives freely and doesn't lecture me about my motives.
Your Father isn't teaching you lessons through loss—He already taught everything necessary through the cross. He's not waiting for you to prove pure motives. He's running toward you with MORE, not less, because that's who He is.
