"God is frustrated with how long it's taking me to get over this."
How it sounds in your head: It's been months and I'm still anxious, still struggling with the same thoughts, still not 'healed.' God must be so tired of hearing the same prayers. I can almost hear Him saying, 'Really? Still this? I expected you to be past this by now.'
"As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust."
-- Psalm 103:13-14Source: religious performance standards that put timelines on emotional healing and present God as impatient with human process.
Well-meaning Christians told her to 'just trust God' or 'take every thought captive,' implying instant victory. When she still struggles, it feels like she's failing a test God is grading, and His patience must be wearing thin.
Israel wandered 40 YEARS in the wilderness, complaining, doubting, building golden calves. God's response? 'You in Your great mercy did not forsake them...their clothes did not wear out, nor did their feet swell' (Neh 9:19-21). He sustained them DAILY through their entire messy process.
I REFUSE the lie that God has a frustration meter running on my healing. IT IS WRITTEN that He pities me as a father pities his children, KNOWING I am dust. His mercies are new EVERY MORNING—not running out, but renewing fresh compassion for me today. I am not disappointing Him with my timeline. IT IS WRITTEN that He who began a good work in me will complete it—HE completes it, not me. I'm a branch connected to the Vine, and fruit comes from HIM, not my striving. I rest in His endless patience and receive His fresh mercy right now.
The Father isn't checking His watch while you heal. He's sitting with you in the struggle, renewing His compassion every single morning, never once thinking, 'Ugh, her again.' He delights in walking with you through this, not waiting for you to finish it alone so He can finally be proud.
