"God is disappointed in my secret struggles I never conquered"
How it sounds in your head: That thought pattern I couldn't break. That bitterness I kept revisiting. That habit I hid and never fully overcame. I prayed about it, tried to stop, but here at the end, it's still with me. God must be so disappointed I never got victory.
"For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified."
-- Hebrews 10:14Religion's lie that God's acceptance is conditional on your victory record rather than Christ's victory, making your sanctification progress the basis of relationship instead of His finished work.
The struggle is STILL THERE—ninety-plus years and you still battle the same thoughts, the same temptations, the same weaknesses. The lack of complete victory feels like evidence of spiritual failure and God's disappointment.
The great apostle wrote, 'The good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice'—admitting ongoing struggle even while writing Scripture. God didn't disqualify him; He used him to write half the New Testament.
I REFUSE the lie that ongoing struggle proves God's disappointment. IT IS WRITTEN that by one offering He has PERFECTED me forever—present tense, permanent status—even while I'm being sanctified. Paul himself battled the same war of flesh and spirit. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for those in Christ, and that includes every secret struggle and incomplete victory. My perfection is in CHRIST'S offering, not my conquest record. The Father sees me through the lens of the finished work, not my unfinished battles.
The Father isn't disappointed in your struggle—He's been in the battle WITH you every moment, not as a judge grading your performance but as a Father holding His daughter through the war. Your righteousness was never based on your victory count.
