"God gives riches to the young and strong; at my age, I'm past blessing season."
How it sounds in your head: Blessing was for my productive years when I could multiply it. Now I'm dependent, declining, near the end. God invests in those who can build; I'm just winding down.
"The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."
-- Psalm 92:12-14World: Ageism; productivity idolatry; retirement as obsolescence narrative.
Culture constantly reinforces that elderly are past their prime, and he feels invisible in a youth-obsessed society. Even churches focus resources on younger generations with 'potential.'
Moses was 120 when he died, and Scripture says 'his eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.' He led Israel, received the Law, and operated in supernatural power right up to his final day—strength and blessing sustained to the end.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm past blessing season or that my age disqualifies me from flourishing. IT IS WRITTEN that I shall STILL bear fruit in old age and be FRESH and flourishing (Psalm 92:12-14). I am not in decline—I am planted in God's house, and He carries me even to gray hairs (Isaiah 46:4). IT IS WRITTEN that the BARAK blessing is mine by covenant, not by productivity metrics. I declare I flourish NOW, receive provision NOW, and overflow with blessing in these years. My strength is renewed like the eagle's, and I bear fruit that remains.
Your Father doesn't see your age—He sees His beloved son, and He's running toward you with the robe and ring just as eagerly at 85 as at 25. The blessing isn't performance-based; it's covenant-secured, and you're IN covenant right now.
