"God gives relationships to good Christians, not kids like me"
How it sounds in your head: I see the church kids whose parents are pastors getting everything. Maybe God blesses people who pray more, read their Bible more, go to church more. I don't measure up to that.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Religious lie that God's gifts are earned through spiritual performance and distributed based on Christian behavior ranking.
Church culture often creates subtle hierarchies where pastor's kids and 'good' families seem to get preferential treatment. Comparing spiritual performance to others creates deep insecurity.
Rahab was a Canaanite prostitute with zero spiritual pedigree, living in active sin when she helped the spies. God didn't make her clean up first—He immediately protected her, brought her into Israel, gave her a husband (Salmon), and put her in the MESSIANIC LINE as great-great-grandmother of King David.
I REFUSE the lie that God gives relationships to good Christians and not me. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me. His gifts aren't earned by spiritual performance—they're given by GRACE. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 2:8-9 that I'm saved by grace through faith, not of works. I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK blessing that protected LIARS, DECEIVERS, and MURDERERS—not because they earned it, but because of COVENANT. I receive God's goodness not because I'm good enough, but because HE is good. I'm a son, not a servant, and sons inherit by BIRTH, not behavior.
Your Father isn't checking your spiritual report card before He blesses you—He's running toward you with the robe and ring while you still smell like pigs. Like Rahab brought from prostitution to the Messianic line, His grace finds you where you are and gives what you could never earn.
