"God gives other families nice things because they go to church more than we do."
How it sounds in your head: You notice the families with the nicest stuff seem more religious. Maybe if your family prayed more, went to church more, was more spiritual, God would bless you financially too. You feel like you're on the outside of God's favor club.
"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified."
-- Galatians 2:16Source: Religion teaching blessings come from religious performance instead of covenant grace.
You see a correlation between religious activity and prosperity in some families, and religion always wants to make blessing about what YOU do. The enemy loves works-based thinking because it puts you on a performance treadmill.
A criminal dying for his crimes, never been to church, never tithed, never served, never got baptized, did nothing religious his whole life—spoke one sentence of faith and Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise.' Instant salvation and eternal blessing with zero religious resume.
I REFUSE the lie that church attendance earns God's blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that I'm justified by FAITH in Christ, not by religious works or perfect attendance. The thief on the cross got Paradise with zero church services attended. I am blessed because I am IN CHRIST, not because of my family's religious performance. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 2:8-9 I'm saved by grace through faith, not of works. The BARAK blessing is mine by covenant blood, not by Sunday morning scorecards, and Heaven's favor rests on me RIGHT NOW by grace alone.
The Father isn't keeping a church attendance chart to decide if you qualify for blessing—He already qualified you by putting you IN CHRIST. Like the prodigal who got the party after living with prostitutes and pigs, your Father's blessing isn't earned by religious performance—it's released by coming HOME to grace.
