"God expects me to live on less now because I'm supposed to be 'content with little.'"
How it sounds in your head: Every time you want something, that voice quotes 'be content with what you have.' You feel guilty for wanting financial breathing room. The church taught you that godly older women should need less, want less, be grateful for scraps while men your age talk about golf trips and new cars.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Source: Religion's poverty gospel mixed with ageism and misogyny—keeping older women quiet, small, and financially dependent while calling it 'godliness.'
Every women's Bible study on contentment, every sermon about the widow's mite, every 'godly woman' example was someone who smiled through lack. The message was clear: wanting provision equals ingratitude equals bad Christian.
At 140+ years old, Scripture says 'the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things'—not 'Abraham learned to need less.' He died wealthy, blessed, and satisfied with good things.
I REFUSE the lie that God expects me to shrink financially in my later years. IT IS WRITTEN that my God supplies ALL my need according to HIS RICHES—not according to my age or gender or what religion says I should accept. I am under the BARAK blessing of Abraham—blessed in the city and field, in my storehouse, coming in and going out. The same blessing that made Abraham wealthy in old age is MINE through Christ. IT IS WRITTEN: I am the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. My Father doesn't give me less because I'm in my sixties—He gives according to HIS abundance, not my supposed limitations.
Your Father isn't handing you a smaller portion because of your age—He's setting a table before you in the presence of every voice that said you should need less. The prodigal got the FATTENED calf, not the scraps, and the Father is preparing abundance for you right now.
