"God didn't bless my business because I wasn't spiritual enough or prayed enough."
How it sounds in your head: The Christian business gurus all say to pray over your business and seek God first. I didn't do morning devotions consistently. I was more excited about revenue than ministry. God withdrew His blessing because my heart wasn't right.
"Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?"
-- Galatians 3:5Religion teaching that God's blessing is conditional on spiritual performance, not covenant.
Other Christian entrepreneurs post about 'God moments' in their businesses and Scripture over their offices. He just posted memes and tried to make money. The contrast makes it seem like they had God's favor and he didn't.
Israel built a golden calf, had an orgy around it, and broke covenant spectacularly while Moses was on the mountain. God was furious—yet the manna NEVER STOPPED for 40 years. The blessing continued through their worst spiritual failure because covenant isn't based on their devotion.
I REFUSE the lie that God's blessing depends on my prayer life or spiritual performance. IT IS WRITTEN: does God work miracles by works of the law or by hearing of faith? My faith is in CHRIST'S FINISHED WORK, not my devotional streak. The BARAK protected Israel even when they built golden calves—how much more does the blood of Jesus cover my imperfect spirituality? I am blessed because I am IN CHRIST, not because I prayed enough. IT IS WRITTEN: I am blessed in the city and field, and that's based on COVENANT, not my quiet time consistency. God supplies miracles by grace, not by my spiritual report card.
The Father wasn't withholding blessing waiting for better devotions—He was protecting you from a path that would've crushed you later and preparing something that actually fits. He doesn't measure your business in prayer hours but in His covenant faithfulness, and the next door opens by His nature, not your spirituality.
