"Everyone else got out in time but I was too slow and lost everything."
How it sounds in your head: Your friends pulled their money out weeks ago. Your sister warned you. Even your coworker saw it coming. But you were slow, stupid, or both. Now they're fine and you're ruined. You're the fool everyone will talk about.
"For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."
-- 2 Corinthians 10:12Comparison is the thief of joy and the voice of the enemy. Religion adds: 'God blesses the wise and punishes the foolish.'
People you know actually did pull out in time and avoided losses. Your slower reaction time cost you money they didn't lose. The comparison is factual and painful.
Bartimaeus sat begging while crowds passed by for YEARS seeing Jesus heal others, always too late, always missing the moment. One day Jesus STOPPED for him specifically, and he received his sight immediately—not because of his timing but because of Jesus' compassion.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a fool because others had better timing. IT IS WRITTEN that comparing myself to others is not wise—my provision comes from COVENANT, not from faster reflexes. The disciples fished all night catching nothing while neighbors succeeded, then Jesus gave them 153 fish with ONE WORD. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 37:25 that the righteous are never forsaken nor their descendants begging. I am Abraham's seed, blessed by the BARAK that doesn't require perfect timing. The Father who stopped for blind Bartimaeus after years of missed opportunities stops for me NOW. My breakthrough doesn't depend on getting out before everyone else—it depends on being IN CHRIST.
The Father doesn't rank His children by market timing or reward the fastest to exit. He's the God who gave manna DAILY for 40 years—nobody got more for being first in line, and being last didn't mean you went hungry.
