"Everyone else figured out wealth-building; I'm the financial failure."
How it sounds in your head: Every man your age either built something or has something. You're the anomaly, the one who never cracked the code. They're leaving legacies; you're leaving debt and apologies. You failed at the one thing men are supposed to do - provide and build.
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich."
-- 2 Corinthians 8:9Enemy attacking masculine provider identity through comparison to other men's visible success.
The country club has members your age with wealth you never touched. The funeral homes bury men with estates. You're the exception, the failure.
Peter left his fishing business with nothing, followed Jesus for three years with no salary or 401k. Yet at the temple gate he said 'Silver and gold I DO have' - instant reversal from broke fisherman to conduit of Kingdom wealth without any wealth-building strategy.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm a financial failure compared to other men. IT IS WRITTEN that through Christ's poverty I BECOME RICH - present tense, not future earning. My wealth is in the EXCHANGE at the cross, not in my building skills. Peter went from broke fisherman to 'silver and gold I have' with no investment plan. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, in the city and in the field. The BARAK blessing doesn't compare me to other men. I AM Abraham's seed, HEIR according to promise. My provider identity is secure in Christ, not in my portfolio at ninety.
Father doesn't measure your manhood by your balance sheet but by your position IN CHRIST. He's running toward you as the SUCCESSFUL son, robe of righteousness ready, not comparing you to anyone else in the neighborhood.
