"Everyone else actually knows what they're doing. I'm the only one faking it."
How it sounds in your head: Look around the boardroom, the church leadership, even your friend group. They all seem confident, certain, like they were born for this. You're the only one Googling basic things at night, the only one whose stomach knots before presentations, the only one who feels like a kid playing dress-up in dad's suit.
"For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence."
-- 1 Corinthians 1:26-29Comparison and enemy-fueled isolation that makes you think you're uniquely inadequate.
Other men don't seem to struggle the way you do—they make decisions faster, speak with more confidence, never seem to second-guess. Your internal chaos feels like proof you're the fraud.
Amos was a shepherd and fig farmer with zero prophetic credentials when religious leaders challenged him. His response: 'I'm not a prophet or a prophet's son—but the LORD took me and said GO.' Instant authority from God's call, not professional qualification.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm uniquely unqualified. IT IS WRITTEN that God CHOSE the foolish and weak things to shame the wise and mighty. I am exactly who God uses—not despite my weakness, but THROUGH it. My adequacy is not in comparison to other men; it's in CONNECTION to Christ. IT IS WRITTEN that apart from Him I can do nothing, but IN Him I bear much fruit. I am a BRANCH connected to the VINE—fruit comes from ABIDING, not striving. The BARAK blessing flows through me by covenant, and the Father's strength is perfected in my weakness.
The Father didn't call the equipped; He equips the called. Like the disciples who were 'unschooled, ordinary men' yet turned the world upside down, your lack of credentials is HIS opportunity to show off His power through you.
