"Everyone can see how messed up I am on the inside."
How it sounds in your head: I feel like I'm wearing my anxiety and sadness like a sign. What if everyone at school or church can tell I'm struggling and thinks I'm weird or broken?
"For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
-- 1 Samuel 16:7Source: Enemy projecting internal shame outward, making her believe private struggle is public spectacle to enforce isolation.
When she feels intense internal chaos, it seems impossible that it's not visible externally. Hyperawareness of her own struggle makes her assume everyone else is equally aware.
Gideon was hiding in a winepress, terrified and insecure, when the angel appeared and called him a 'mighty warrior.' God didn't see what Gideon felt; He saw who Gideon WAS in Him—identity, not current emotional state.
I REFUSE the lie that my internal struggle is on public display. IT IS WRITTEN that man sees outward appearance, but God sees the heart—and when He sees mine, He sees the righteousness of Christ. My life is HIDDEN with Christ in God; my identity is secure, not exposed. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for me. People's perceptions don't define me; God's declaration does. The BARAK blessing means I am blessed coming in and going out—I carry favor, not shame. What I feel inside does not dictate what God or others see. I am a mighty warrior even when I feel like I'm hiding.
The Father doesn't see you through the lens of your struggle; He sees you through the lens of the cross, already perfect, already whole. What feels like exposure to you is hidden security in Him.
