"Everyone betrays eventually—loyalty is a myth people tell themselves."
How it sounds in your head: My dad left. My business partner screwed me. My wife cheated. Best friend talked behind my back. There's a pattern here, and the common denominator is that everyone will choose themselves when it counts. Loyalty is fairy tale nonsense.
"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Trauma—past patterns create a grid that expects betrayal, becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy as you push away before they can leave.
The evidence is stacked—multiple betrayals create a statistically convincing case that loyalty doesn't exist, and cynicism feels like realism rather than a wound.
Jonathan's father Saul tried to kill David repeatedly and demanded Jonathan's loyalty to family over friendship. Jonathan risked his inheritance, his life, and his father's rage to protect David—covenant loyalty even when it cost him everything.
I REFUSE the lie that everyone betrays. IT IS WRITTEN that God's compassions fail NOT and His faithfulness is new every morning—loyalty exists because HE exists. The betrayals I experienced were not proof of a universal law but the enemy's targeted attack against my ability to receive covenant relationships. IT IS WRITTEN in Proverbs 18:24 there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK blessing—God supernaturally connects me with Jonathan-level covenant friends who will risk everything for me. I break agreement with the expectation of betrayal. I attract and recognize loyal, faithful people because I carry the faithfulness of God within me.
The Father hasn't abandoned you to a world of betrayers—He's been faithful through every abandonment, and He's positioning covenant people around you right now who will prove that loyalty isn't extinct. While you're building a case for cynicism, He's building a family around you that will never leave.
