"Debt is a sin and a curse, proof I've failed and God is withholding from me."
How it sounds in your head: I'm drowning in student loans and credit card bills. This must mean I've messed up and God is disappointed. If I were really blessed, I wouldn't be in this hole. I'm under a curse.
"Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt."
-- Matthew 18:27Religion weaponizing Romans 13:8 and Proverbs 22:7 while ignoring that Christ redeemed you from the CURSE, and the debtor in Matthew 18 was instantly forgiven an unpayable amount.
Church culture treats debt like moral failure. You feel shame every time you swipe a card, like you're outside God's blessing because you owe money.
The widow owed so much that creditors were coming to take her children as slaves. In ONE AFTERNOON, God multiplied oil until she sold enough to pay ALL her debts and had surplus to live on—instant financial turnaround.
I REFUSE the lie that debt is a curse or proof of failure. IT IS WRITTEN: Christ redeemed me from the curse of the law, and there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. My debt doesn't disqualify me from blessing—the widow owed crushing debt, and God STILL multiplied provision. IT IS WRITTEN: The master in Matthew 18 forgave an unpayable debt in one moment. My Father is not withholding because I owe—He's the God who commands blessing even in the midst of lack. The BARAK covers me, and breakthrough is coming.
Your Father isn't tapping His foot waiting for you to get out of debt before He blesses you. He's the One who multiplied oil for a widow in debt so crushing her kids were about to be taken—and He did it in ONE DAY. He's doing the same for you.
