"COPD is my identity now—every breath reminds me I'm a dying, gasping shell."
How it sounds in your head: Can't walk ten feet without oxygen. Used to provide for a family; now can't even breathe on my own. Every wheeze is a countdown. This tank is my ball and chain.
"Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: 'Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.'"
-- Ezekiel 37:5Enemy magnifies physical limitation to overshadow spiritual reality of being seated in heavenly places.
Dependence on oxygen equipment is constant, visible reminder. Loss of physical independence after decades of self-sufficiency feels like total identity collapse.
Bones weren't just dead—they were DRY, scattered, hopeless. God didn't gradually improve them—He commanded breath, and INSTANTLY they became a vast army. From completely dead to fully alive in ONE BREATH.
I REFUSE the lie that COPD defines me or that I'm a dying shell. IT IS WRITTEN that God causes breath to enter and brings LIFE—my identity is LIVING SOUL, not gasping patient. The same breath that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me (Romans 8:11), and that's more real than my oxygen levels. I am covered by the BARAK blessing that promises LIFE—'I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life' (Deut 30:19). IT IS WRITTEN that I am hidden with Christ in God—my TRUE life isn't measured by lung capacity but by HIS resurrection power in me. This disease is temporary; my identity as His son is ETERNAL and unshakeable.
The Father doesn't see you hooked to oxygen—He sees you filled with HIS breath, the same breath that hovered over creation and split the Red Sea. The prodigal came home exhausted and depleted; the Father's response was instant LIFE—robe, ring, party. Your weakness is the exact place His strength is made perfect.
