"Biblical prosperity is only spiritual—physical wealth was Old Covenant, not for New Testament believers."
How it sounds in your head: Preachers say the real riches are in Christ and that seeking physical wealth is carnal. New Testament Christians should focus on treasures in heaven, not earthly prosperity. Maybe you're being worldly by wanting financial breakthrough at this stage of life.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religious teaching that spiritualizes every promise and makes physical provision seem less holy than spiritual blessings.
Jesus talked about spiritual riches and warned about loving money, so pursuing financial increase feels like you're prioritizing the wrong kingdom. The early church shared everything, which seems opposite of personal wealth.
The early church had NO LACK among them—not because they embraced poverty but because provision was so abundant that needs were met supernaturally. They shared out of OVERFLOW, not poverty, proving New Covenant believers walked in BOTH spiritual and physical abundance.
I REFUSE the lie that New Testament prosperity is only spiritual. IT IS WRITTEN that John prayed believers would prosper in ALL THINGS and be in health—not just soul prosperity. My Father didn't send Jesus to make me spiritually rich and physically poor. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the CURSE so the blessing of Abraham would come on me. The barak isn't just for ancient Israel—it's mine through the BETTER covenant. I am blessed in the city, blessed in the field, blessed in my storehouse, the head and not the tail. Physical provision is not carnal—it's COVENANT. I receive BOTH spiritual riches AND material abundance because my Father is GOOD and His covenant is BETTER.
Your Father didn't run to the prodigal with just a spiritual hug—He put a RING on his finger, a ROBE on his back, SANDALS on his feet, and threw a PARTY with the best food. He restores FULLY—spirit, soul, AND body, including the physical provision that demonstrates His lavish love.
