The betrayal IS evidence that you didn't see it coming, and self-doubt feels safer than trusting your judgment again. If you can't trust your discernment, at least you won't be blindsided—you'll just be alone, which feels more controllable.
Samuel, God's own prophet, looked at Eliab and thought 'Surely this is the Lord's anointed'—he was WRONG. God corrected him: 'Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.' Samuel's 'bad discernment' didn't disqualify him—God INSTANTLY redirected him to David, and Samuel anointed the right king that same day.
I REFUSE the lie that betrayal proves my discernment is permanently broken. IT IS WRITTEN that I HAVE the mind of Christ—not will develop, not might earn, HAVE right now. My ability to discern safe people flows from HIS MIND IN ME, not from a perfect track record. IT IS WRITTEN that the Spirit leads me into all truth, and one wound doesn't override that promise. The BARAK blessing that redirected Samuel INSTANTLY from wrong choice to right king redirects me now. I am a branch in the Vine of Perfect Wisdom, producing discernment as fruit. My Father is revealing true hearts to me TODAY—I trust His voice in me. I am Abraham's seed, and the same Spirit who led Philip directly to the Ethiopian leads me to safe people.
Father is not waiting for you to rebuild confidence in your judgment through years of therapy—He's giving you HIS MIND right now, this moment. He's running toward you with supernatural discernment as a GIFT, showing you who is safe while you still feel foolish, because His wisdom isn't earned.
